A remarkable map of Google Street View coverage in Europe. Germany and Austria clearly stand out. This is presumably due to the hundreds of thousands of privacy complaints, which Google had resolve by manually blurring the images of private houses. In 2011 Google decided not to update the publicly available German Street View data.
